The academy has become very popular and fills quickly. Applications are on a first come first serve basis. We accept 5 explorers from a given post with the exception of the host agency being allowed to have 10. Your application is not considered accepted until all supporting documentation has been sent to the P.O. Box below. (You must send it U.S. mail). You may submit more than 5 applications, but they will be placed on a waiting list. We often have cancellations and are able to accommodate additional explorers. Please provide us with information regarding the priority of the applicants e.g. 1-5 or 6-10 Cancellations and Refunds
Full refunds will be issued if a cancellation is received before February 28, 2010 No refunds will be issued if a cancellation is received after February 28, 2010. Captains and Chief Officers
One of the strongest attributes the explorers develop during the academy is leadership. Each year 10 chief officers and 24 captains are selected to lead the 166 cadets attending the academy. Explorers that you feel will make good candidates for officer positions are encouraged to apply. The post advisor must submit a letter of recommendation for any explorer that is applying for the position of Captain or above. Chief Officers in addition to the letter of recommendation must also submit a letter of interest/intent and a resume. Please include this information with the explorer's application. Scholarships
